Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso

This week on the blog I want to share the recipe to the newest DIY coffee doing the rounds.

This drink is new on the Starbucks menu but they’ve been charging an absolute bomb for something that costs next to nothing with ingredients you probably already have, and can easily make yourself at home.

Yesterday over on my Instagram I shared a video on how to make this simple iced coffee drink. I contemplated for a few days on how I was going to share this, whether it was as a detailed blog post or a quick Tik Tok, and in the end I decided on a long format IGTV video. I’m new to the video world, and ended up leaving a vital part out: quantities to the ingredients!

Now, in my defence this really is a “make to your own taste/liking” drink, but if you’re a stickler for measurements and quantities, here ya go:

Ingredients:

– x1 Double shot of espresso (or a half cup of really strong black coffee)
– x1 Tablespoon of dark brown sugar
– x1 Teaspoon of cinnamon (or any sort of nutmeg, mixed spice etc.)
– Oat milk (to taste/liking)
– Ice
– x1 Shaker/container

Method:

Click the link to my Instagram IGTV on how I put all these ingredients together to make one of the tastiest iced coffee drinks I’ve had in quite some time!

Let me know if you make it, and what your thoughts are. Have you had the actual Starbucks drink? How do you think they compare?

See you in my next post 😊

  1. I have been doing my own iced coffees for a few decades now. Dating myself I know. I love iced coffee but not the price to buy it out. My wife passes along starbucks gift cards that she often receives as gratuities and I haven’t even used them all. LOL
